Building Our Team for the Future – Isis is in Safe Hands

Our History

Isis was founded in 2002 in Oxford by three experienced advisers – two of them women, which was (and sadly still is) rare in the financial planning business. We took our name from the River Thames, which flows through Oxford as the Isis.

Our aim was to be able to offer integrated advice: investments, pensions, tax and general financial planning all under one roof. Clients might be advised by one, two or all of us, depending on their circumstances and needs. By having a tax specialist in-house, we were able to ensure that tax-efficiency was always at the heart of our advice.

Ethical & Socially Responsible

Right from the start, we were pioneers in offering clients access to ethical, socially responsible funds in their pension and investment portfolios. In those early days, we provided advice to gay and unmarried couples who faced discrimination in the financial marketplace. We advised legislators and peers on the finance side when civil partnership laws were being drafted.

Generations Of Clients

Many of our family clients span the generations. We started by advising one generation on building up their investments and pensions. They introduced us to their parents, and we helped with their estate planning. And now we are also helping their children, who are starting out in their careers and need advice on saving for a deposit.

Highly Qualified Advisers

Over the last twenty years, our work has evolved. We have always prioritised training – we were one of the first Chartered Financial Planners in the country and our three founders are also individually chartered. This means that we are among the most highly qualified advisers in the profession.

Two of our advisers hold the full diploma of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. This led to us taking on more estate planning work and dealing with trusts and estates.

In recent years, we have taken on two younger advisers, who are fully committed to our culture and ethos. Having gained their diplomas in financial planning, they are both now studying for advanced qualifications and individual chartered status.
